CAMBRIDGESHIRE FIELD TRIAL SOCIETY
KENNEL CLUB AND CFTS
REGULATIONS
1.
All
Field Trials will be run under Kennel Club Rules and all dogs must be registered
at the Kennel Club.
2.
The
Society reserves the right to refuse entries.
3.
Should
circumstances so dictate, the Society, in consultation with the judges may alter
the arrangements as necessary. Such
changes and the circumstances surrounding them will be reported to the Kennel
Club at the earliest opportunity.
4.
No
modifications will be made to this schedule except by permission of the Kennel
Club followed by advertisement in appropriate journals if time permits before
closing date of entries.
5.
The
Society accepts no responsibility for injury, loss or damage to persons or
property however occasioned.
1.
Stakes
are open to all, but members will have preference in the draw.
2.
Nominations for all stakes at Field Trial Meetings must be applied for on an
entry form provided by the Society and entry fees must be in the hands of the FT
Secretary prior to the commencement of the trial.
3.
Entries
are to be decided by ballot, which will form the order of running.
The draw will take place in public at least 10 days prior to the trial.
4.
Definition - Retrievers:
a.
A
Novice Stake is for dogs who have NOT won a first, second, third or fourth in a
24 dog Open stake or first, second or third award in a 12 dog Open stake or a
first award in an All Aged or Novice Stake.
b.
An Open
stake is for dogs which have won first, second, third or fourth award in a 24
dog Open stake or a first, second or third award in a 12 dog Open stake or a
First award in an All Aged or Novice Stake.
c.
All
Aged Stake – preference in the draw will be given to dogs with a Field Trial
Award including CoM.
5.
Definition – Spaniels
a.
A
Novice Stake is for dogs who have NOT won a first, second, third or fourth in a
24 dog Open stake or first, second or third award in a 12 dog Open stake or a
first award in an All Aged or Novice Stake.
b.
An Open
stake is for dogs which have won a First, Second or third in an Open Stake or a
First in an All-Aged or Novice Stake.
To qualify for preference in the draw in a Open Spaniel Stake, the dog
must have gained the appropriate places in a Stake open to its breed.
6.
Please
note there is a penalty of £20 if cups and boxes are not returned in time to be
presented at the trial. All
trophies must be engraved before being returned.
7.
Membership Subscription is £8.00 per annum due on 1st January each year – please
check that your membership is up to date.
8.
Please
send a SEPARATE cheque for each entry, plus a SAE for each result of the draw –
or preferably provide an email address.
9.
Entries
should be sent to Mrs Fiona Joint.
Please note, if you send your entry to any other committee member IT WILL NOT BE
DEEMED AS A RUN.
10.
Substitution of dogs will be allowed up to 5pm two days prior to the trial
subject to consultation with the FT Secretary, providing it is eligible for that
stake and that a completed entry form and fee are in the hands of the secretary
before the commencement of the Trial.
11.
No
entry fees will be charged for discarded entries up to SEVEN days prior to the
Trial, but anyone cancelling after this time will forfeit the whole of the fee
unless a veterinary certificate is produced.
This includes immediate reserves who have not told the secretary that
they are unable to run.
12.
Applicants who do not provide an e-mail address or enclose a self-sealing,
stamped, addressed envelope WILL NOT BE INCLUDED in the draw and will not
receive a copy of the draw.
13.
Reserves will be notified by telephone in draw order.
If contact cannot be made the offer will be passed to the next on the
list.
14.
Entries
will be accepted by email providing a cheque is received prior to the
commencement of the trial. Entries
will NOT be taken over the telephone.
15.
Competitors are reminded of the importance of accuracy on entry forms, all
illegible entry forms will be excluded from the draw.
16.
Any
competitor not present at the meet when the Chief Steward announces the trial
has commenced will forfeit their place to the reserve
17.
Dogs in
Open and Novice Stakes will be expected to retrieve fur and feather.
18.
No dog
will be discarded for hard mouth unless all judges have examined the damaged
game.
19.
Any
Bitch in season or any dog suffering from hysteria must be removed from the
Trial.
20.
The
Committee shall be empowered to abandon or postpone the Trial as they find
necessary. In the event of
abandonment all entry fees will be returned.
21.
Should
any case arise at a Field Trial meeting not provided for in the foregoing rules,
the members of the Committee present shall adjudicate and their decision shall
be acted upon.
22.
Any
objections to a dog must be made in writing within seven days of the trial.
£35 must be deposited. The
objector will forfeit this deposit if his or her claim is found to be frivolous
and overruled.
